Workout for Grade Five Turf Sprint (5f)
[/blockquote][/blockquote]It was time to workout for the grade five turf racers which was for five furlongs racers. The first horse ready on the track was the palomino mare rainy day, she was doing well for her four year old season and we had high hopes for her for the future, she was a preceder most of the time, but she can tend to hang back into the mid pack region as well. The second horse of ours was one of our white horses, Baylee was stunning colt and he was another preceder and now have been trained to hang back to second or third depending on the number of horses on the track. lastly was the bay mare which we took on last year and she was doing amazedly well this season, her performance was coming back, Misty is a front runner likes to lead the race all the way, and she have been trained to hang a little now. The horses were exercising their muscles now, while the gates were tested and locked back up again.
The field was generally large and looking over the competition. Gate Four held a bay colt from Silver Stride Stables. This colt as amazing colt for a young horse and great bloodlines as well, he was a front runner and was a potential danger on the day. Circling his name on the paper , as he was most like be leading the race along side Misty. Gate Five held a bay filly from Silver Perfection Stables. This filly as won two of her races so far, and was also another front runner/preceder horse. She could position herself along side Misty as well or by Rain or Baylee, so this filly was tricky to place on the paper now, for now she could be stalked by Baylee or Rain at the moment, as her name was circled in blue pen. Gate Six and Seven were horses from Close Racing Stables. Gate Six held a black three year filly, she was another front runner, but looking at her past races she was a type of horse which loses her stamina in a big field, so far she isn't the horse to worry about, threat wise. Gate Seven held a bay colt, he was another front runner, he could be a mystery horse which would act poor and then comes cleanly, so he could be the one to watch. Making these two horses in orange pen now as to mark less of a threat on the day. Gate Eight held a bay filly from Star Thoroughbred Stables, she was a mid pack and with all the other runners front runners, she is the danger to take the lead. So marking her red we were with a plan.
The three horses were in the gates and ready to go. Rain pawed the turf with her hoof which was an habit she had basically. Then the gates sprung open and the horses broke cleanly. Misty and Baylee were in the lead which was usual for him. This time Rain was held back along the middle, since there was one horse in mid pack, it was to stalk this other horse. Misty was keeping her stamina more, while Baylee was stuck like glue to her rump as he was stalking her more and more into the race. Quarter of mile have gone passed now and Misty spread her limbs some more as she was making her move some more. Baylee and Rain were next to each other now as they were binding their time. The race was almost over and Misty still had her stamina for the finishing, as she was spreading her limbs some more. Rain was slowly passing Baylee as he was binding his time still some more. As the final turn came Baylee sprung into action and he sped some more and finally he came side by side with Misty challenging her now. Rain was staying where she was like she was keeping her speed for the actual race. Misty wasn't giving up the lead without a fight, and stayed where she was and the line was crossed by both of them. Rain was crossed also just two lengths behind. The horses were pulled up and led back to the yard, to report they performances on the day.
